I find myself and some of my closest friends constantly on the topic of the enlightmnet of the Negro Nation, especially that of the Negroes on American soil. It seems as if many of us have forgotten where it is we come from or just seem to be indifferent towards the struggles that our African and African-American ancestors went through in hopes of making a satisfactory life attainable for us. Now, many say that those struggles are the past and just that, however, it is this mentality that has led us to the state which we are currently in. It was the past that dealt us the had that we have now (a hand that is much more pleasant than the one dealt to our ancestors). If it wasn't for those individuals of the past who stood up for our existence today, we'd probably still be in chains working on plantations and the likes. However, our ancestors helped eliminate that fate. Despite the fact that we aren't currently physically chained, mentally we are and very few of us failed to realize this or in other cases have become complacent with the whole situation.
My purpose in creating this blog isn't to be recognized as a revolutionist or what have you, but serves the purpose of continuing the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr, Malcolm X and the likes. Somewhere down the line someone within our generation has forgotton to pick up the torch and run with it. In an attempt to free the minds of our people, this blog serves as a sort of enlightment or RE-enlightment in the empowerment of the Negro community through knowledge and dialogue. Through this blog, I hope to present current issues that address our present state, in hopes of have an indepth dialogue with my readers.
Before any discussions are held within this blog, I ask that anyone who chooses to read my postings or the postings of others, do so at their own discretion. My blog isn't meant to encourage prejudice thoughts or beliefs, but as stated above, serves as a re-enlightment to the current African-American generation. If you are offended by my opinion or the opinions of others, then I ask that you do not take part in reading what is is being posted on this blog. However, to those who are able to entertain the opinions of others and hold your own opinions (may they be the same or different), I encourage you to speak your mind and let your voice be heard.
To what I hope is a successful launch
Love.Peace. and Nappiness.
